Two-Factor Authentication User Guide

iJoin portal users will be required to setup their account the first time they attempt to log into iJoin Portal after 2FA has been enabled on their account

1. Log into the iJoin Portal with your current Username and Password.

If you are not enabled for multi-factor authentication, you will proceed directly to the iJoin Portal homepage.

If you have been enabled for Two-Factor Authentication, you will be presented with the Two-Factor Authentication popup screen. You will need to setup the authentication process.
- You will need your mobile phone (iPhone or Android phone).
- You will need an installed Authenticator App on your phone, such as Google Authenticator.

2. If you already have an Authenticator App on your phone, such as Google Authenticator, then proceed to your phone and open the App.

Tap the plus (+) button. It may be located at the top or bottom of the page, depending upon the App you are using.

At the bottom of your phone screen, two options will display, "Scan a QR Code (or barcode)" and "Manual entry." Select the Scan option, which will launch your camera.
Use the phone to scan the QR Code presented to you in the IJoin Portal log-in process Two-Factor Authentication page.
After you entered your username and password into the iJoin Portal, you were presented with the Two-Factor Authentication page.

After the QR Code is successfully scanned through your phone, the IJoin Portal account appears on your phone within the Authenticator App, under the associated username along with a six-digit code.
Enter the six-digit code in the Security Code box on the QR Code popup up screen within the iJoin Portal and select Validate Code.
Successful entry of the six-digit code will take you to the iJoin Portal homepage.

3. If you do not have an Authenticator App on your phone you will need to download an App. We suggest Google Authenticator, but others are available such as Duo Security, Authy and Microsoft Authenticator.

Download the Authenticator App from either the Apple App Store or the Android Google Play store. They are free applications.
Once installed, open the Authenticator app on your phone.
- Tap the plus (+) button and follow the instructions above.

Note: depending upon the App you may be taken directly to the "Scan a QR Code (or barcode)" and "Manual entry" options.

4. In the future, logging into the iJoin Portal when you have two-step authentication enabled, will be a two-step process.

Step 1 – enter your username and password as you currently do.
Step 2 – After step 1 is successful, a new popup will be presented requesting you enter a Security Code.

Open the Authenticator App on your phone, locate the new six-digit code associated with your username and enter that value into the Security Code field and select Validate Code.

You are automatically directed to the iJoin Portal homepage.
